Miracle Tree Details

We shared Sunday what's happening with this year's Miracle Tree.  Can anyone say "Big"?

The tree with names will be up and available at Shepherd's Chevrolet starting this weekend (11/25).  Posters/flyers will be available Sunday and we need lots of help getting the word out to the community about the tree.  The Fulton County community is huge in helping make the Miracle Tree a success every year and this year will be no different!

The gift distribution will be a little different this year and we are very excited to announce that we are going to be inviting all the Miracle Tree families to a special Dinner and Gift Party on Wednesday December 21.  Presently, we are working on renting out the Rochester Middle School for this event.  There will be a catered meal, inflatables and games for the kids and of course Gifts!  This will be an event where everyone at Mill Creek will be encouraged to find a spot, get in the game and help serve out some Love Wins!  We've done "Big" before and we hope we can do it again for the Miracle Tree.

More information about volunteering, times, etc. will be available starting this Sunday (11/27).  If you have any questions, please direct them to Matt and Megan Gongwer (email them here) as they lead the team.  There are still a lot of details to work out, but we are excited about engaging our community and sharing God's love with some special people.

It's going to be a great Christmas - let's "Serve a Miracle" this year!

Hunger statistics

Finishing our series "Deadly" this week with a look at gluttony.  Great timing with Thanksgiving coming up huh?  Check out this website - www.stopthehunger.com.  Pretty powerful to see the numbers right in front of you.

Looking forward to a challenging and rewarding weekend!

Tools to help you "Run Baby Run"

Shared Sunday about the need to run from the trap of lust and immorality in our series "Deadly".  Not necessarily an easy conversation to have, but in our culture, a necessary one.  Besides this is supposed to be a place for Real Life so it's ok to have real  life, "big boy, big girl" conversations.  Right?

Here are some really good resources that use technology to help us "run" from the immorality and traps of lust all around us.  Highly recommended!

Internet filters - Bsecure

Accountability software - X3Watch.com (also has mobile phone capabilities)
Covenant Eyes (also has filtering)

A really great web resource and some guys who are doing some incredible work and ministry in a very sensitive area - xxxchurch.com

Greed

The infamous Gordon Gekko getting us ready for this weekend's teaching:

What kind of a name is Gekko anyway?
